Project background and objective
The paper goods retailer Putinki and the art supplies store HanArt joined forces, and the first Putinki Art store opened in Kaisaniemi, Helsinki. An entirely new retail concept was created for Putinki Art. The store brings together Putinki’s familiar favourite products and a wide selection of art supplies to meet the needs of both hobbyists and professional artists.
Project implementation
AMP designed the new concept and brought the store to life in close collaboration with the Putinki Art team. The focus was particularly on showcasing the art supplies, while still retaining Putinki’s traditional product range. The project included the planning of colours, materials and lighting, as well as the renovation and furnishing of the retail space.
Summary
- A new retail concept was created for Putinki Art, combining Putinki’s traditional products with its new range of art supplies. The new premises also provide an opportunity to host changing art exhibitions in the store windows.
- Flexibility was another key consideration in the design. The store layout can easily be adapted to suit different purposes. The freestanding display units are equipped with wheels, making them easy to move around. This also allows the retail space to be used for activities such as various art workshops.
