Our new Reuse circular economy service gives building materials a second life

We want to promote the circular construction through our work. Our latest project promotes the reuse of building materials.

Currently, a huge amount of usable items that still have years of life left in them end up in waste containers. Some of the products that end up in waste containers are completely new and unused, surplus materials from construction projects.

As a solution to this, we have developed Reuse, a circular service that promotes the reuse of building materials and furniture. The cornerstone of the Reuse service is a web browser-based software that provides an inventory tool, a marketplace, and a circular economy network, all in one place. In addition, we offer an inventory service and other services that promote reuse, from demolition plans to product reinstallation.

To develop the service further we have applied for business support from ELY. This has enabled us to develop a new method and support processes for the reuse and refurbishment of building materials to reduce waste in the construction industry. The aim of the project is to design a digital material management and procurement platform that will streamline recycling processes and improve the availability of information on materials. In addition, the project aims to increase the use of recycled materials in construction projects, raise awareness of the benefits of recycling in the industry, and create new business models that can be expanded to international markets.

Inventory service

Does your company need an inventory service? We can provide you with inventory staff who will come to your premises to clean and photograph the products and record the product information on the Reuse inventory or marketplace platform.

Inventory tool

The inventory tool ensures that the information is only visible within your company, and you can use the tool to see what your company already owns. The inventory platform credentials can be shared with your project architects and designers so that they can specify the products used in their designs.

Marketplace

If you want to dispose of some products, they can be placed on the marketplace on the same platform, where they will be available to other companies. Similarly, your company and project designers can select products from the marketplace for reuse.

Circular economy network

Reuse brings together players in the construction industry. When companies join forces, the industry gains not only common rules for reuse, but also a shared marketplace and a wider range of products than if companies were to take inventory within their own organizations. On the Reuse platform, you will find circular economy service providers for everything from dismantling and transport to repainting and reinstallation.

What should you inventory on the Reuse platform?

The best products are modular and easily dismantled products, such as textile floor mats, suspended ceiling panels, glass walls and doors, kitchen furniture, and toilet fixtures. You can also inventory pipe parts, ventilation parts, and electrical parts on the platform. In addition, you can inventory furniture, lighting fixtures, and other products for reuse.
